Since each insurance plan is different, you can count on Premier Home Health Care, Inc. to contact your insurance carrier to determine what services will be covered. It’s important to note that commercial insurance does not generally cover long-term care. We will take the guesswork out of whether there will be any out-of-pocket expenses (such as deductibles or co-pays), so you will know exactly what you will be paying up-front.
Medicare and Medicaid coverage:
For Medicare recipients, home health care services are covered, provided that the following criteria are met:
- A physician has ordered the services.
- A Medicare Certified Home Health Agency provides the services.
- A client who is homebound requires the need for skilled nursing or physical therapy.
- A client’s condition has the potential to improve with short-term assistance.
Medicare is not a long-term home health care solution and will only cover services for a maximum of up to 60 days.
Medicaid candidates may qualify for a benefit called long-term community-based care only if they meet established financial and medical criteria (qualifications can vary from state to state). Private Pay options:
